On February 25, 2026, NEWAC sponsored and Bellevue Public Library co-sponsored the lecture by Major General Patrice Morand, Defense Attaché, Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. The topic was Alliances and Deterrence in an Era of Strategic Uncertainty. An enthusiastic audience of 40 asked many questions during a 35-minute Q and A session. Then, we joined two other French Defense Attaché, Colonel Julien Resplandy and Colonel Mathieu Rigg, to mingle. Zoom broadcasting was not available due to confidentiality.
