  • Cynthia (Cindi) Allen

    Honorary Chair

    Cynthia (Cindi) Allen serves as Nebraska’s Deputy Secretary of State. She is an expert in international trade with a special interest in the issue of food security.

    As Deputy Secretary, Ms. Allen has accompanied the Governor of Nebraska to countries on multiple continents to promote the State’s agricultural interests. In addition, at the invitation of the U.S. Dry Bean Council, she has participated in food security trade missions to Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

    Ms. Allen is one of 30 members nationwide of the USDA Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC), and she also serves on the USDA Global Food Security Strategy Committee. She is an alumnus of the Nebraska Leadership, Education, Agriculture, Development (LEAD) program (Class XXIV). She is a former board member of the Nebraska Agricultural Leadership Council, and she currently serves on the Nebraska International Trade Council.

    Ms. Allen received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bellevue University and a master’s degree in political management from George Washington University. Volunteering at home and abroad, she has promoted numerous humanitarian projects through Rotary International.
